A Night with the New C-Class

Jane   15 Sep , 2014

When I received an invite for the launch of the latest C-Class model of Mercedes Benz, I had a feeling that my family will attend as well. My late grandma and the mom of Mr. Felix Ang were very good friends, and my parents would go to their events to show support.

So, there we were… a family affair sans my youngest brother who is very busy with med school. The only time you can get the “boys” to attend an event is when there are cars involved, and to check out the unveiling of the Mercedes Benz C-Class model is enticing enough for them.

I am so happy that my ninang Josie Go of Karimadon came up with this sleeveless draped dress. It’s perfect for functions like this, and a steal for less than P1,500. I paired it with nude T-strap pumps from Zara, embellished Pandora bag by Givenchy, and these lovely earrings by Lucille Dizon, a gift from my mom.

The Rigodon ballroom was packed with men… need I explain why? And I got to bump into a few delightful people, too! For one, my uncle Archie King who is cousins with my dad. And my batchmate from grade school, Carl Dy, who we shared a cocktail table with

He is into real estate and is very much passionate about it, which lead to him conducting seminars and talks on how to invest on properties. Even releasing a book on how to do this, with the title “6 Steps.” Check him out if you are interested in purchasing or investing real estate.

I bumped into so many people, like Patty Laurel-Filart, but wasn’t able to get a photo with. Even Nikki Gil, who was my cover girl for Pink magazine waaaay back—and it was her birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday, Nikki 🙂

At least, all that chit-chat got me preoccupied, while we waited for the unveiling. Mr. Felix Ang opened the event with a brief speech:

And the C-Class models were driven out on stage. I was able to take a few shots:

The C-Class is a pretty compact car, compared to the other higher models by Mercedes Benz, and has almost all the features of its higher models. They offer functions such as “intelligent driving” with “attention assistance”:

  • Active Parking Assist, which enables automated parking with active steering and brake intervention in both parallel and end-on parking spaces,
  • a 360° camera as option, which is able to show the vehicle and its surroundings from various perspectives, including a virtual bird’s-eye view,
  • Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, which allows the high-beam headlamps to be kept on permanently without dazzling traffic by masking out other vehicles in the light cone of the high-beam headlamps.

But, you know, like any regular girl… my interest on automobiles is about average. I just look at the aesthetics, and it looks like they did minimal upgrading, but still very sleek and unmistakably Mercedes Benz in its design DNA. That night was all about reconnecting for me, while the boys enjoyed the cars. Still, a big thank you, Mercedes Benz, for the inviting us to the unveiling 😉
