With the rise of online sites in the recent years, we (Jane Kingsu-Cheng and Keri Zamora) felt that there are only a handful of blogs that cater to women like us — young and passionate moms.
Hence, the birth of Flats and Stilettos. We feel that this phrase best represents us the most, since we’re always out and about—be it for our family or for our own personal growth and interests. From casual to roughing it to eventful activities, we’re ready for them and we can’t wait to share our stories and finds wherever our shoes take us.
Meet the ladies that are behind FLATS and STILETTOS:
Jane graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a BS Management Information Systems degree, but her love for fashion and the creative arts prevailed and brought her to the publishing industry. In a span of over 15 years, she has been an editor-in-chief for magazines (Pink and K-Kris Aquino) under ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc., a fashion and beauty columnist for Manila Bulletin, an interpreter for the Meteor Garden cast from Taiwan, a lifestyle blogger, a stylist, and a marketing maven for Forever 21 Philippines.
Now, she spends most of her time with her family, with her two sons and a daughter on the way. But this lady doesn’t like to be idle, as she keeps herself busy with whatever she can get her hands on with—be it a hobby or a new interest that will challenge her and contribute to her personal growth. She also does marketing and PR consultations for a selected clientele to keep her marketing skills sharp.
Keri is a graduate of Assumption College, and pursued further studies at Parsons The New School for Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, and Child Development at New York University. In between rearing her four children (with ages ranging from 1-13 years old), she has worked as a freelance stylist, an image consultant, style columnist, and managed a fashion retail brand.
At present, she is the Managing Director of Goldilocks Greenhills . She is also active in her husband’s social awareness projects on sports and education in San Juan City, and a volunteer at Right Start Philippines—a non government organization whose goal is to empower underprivileged children to be creative and productive.
Traveling and trying new restaurants with her family are what she loves to do most, aside from browsing the web for the latest in fashion. She unwinds by having a glass of red wine, while watching a good Korean drama.
It is so nice to meet you guys, i’m kristelle tin machoga
