Kyochon and Lee Min Ho

Keri   25 Feb , 2015

I discovered Kdrama back in 2009 when my friend Pin gave me the DVD of Boys Over Flowers ( the hit Korean version of Meteor Garden and Hana Yori Dango).   I haven’t looked back since then.  The last US TV series I’ve seen was Grey’s Anatomy (season 4) then it’s been followed by all Korean dramas.   I became such a huge fan of the Boys Over Flowers drama that I actually flew to Yokohama for their 2 day fan meet and made several trips to Seoul.  In one instance I dragged my friend who was totally oblivious to Kdrama to join me on a BOF Drama tour around Seoul, she wanted to strangle me when we were brought to a garage wherein one of the scenes from the drama was shot.

It was also during my trips to Seoul that I discovered the Chicken and Beer culture.  They love unwinding with chicken and beer.  And the best fried chicken I have ever tasted is Kyochon.  So when Kyochon was brought to Manila, I was thrilled.   I was surprised when my husband asked  me about the brand and the possibility of doing a joint venture with Kyochon Philippines for their branches in Greenhills and Estancia Mall in Capitol Commons.  It didn’t take a lot to convince him that Kyochon is a great franchise that really serves the best fried chicken!  And I was happier to find out that Lee Min Ho, my Korean crush, is the endorser! Talk about perfection <3

After talks of Lee Min Ho coming to do Kyochon’s Grand Launch in the Philippines, the event finally took place at our branch in Theatre Mall, Greenhills in San Juan City.  The event was set to start at 6pm but by 5pm the place was already packed reaching the Promenade parking lot.  Must be the Lee Min Ho magic.  It’s amazing how many of us love him but it’s not hard to see why.  Min Ho is truly very charming and warm to his fans.  In spite of the language barrier, you can still see and feel his sincerity.   That’s what makes him the perfect ambassador for Kyochon which is all about honesty and a brand that promises quality and goodness minus the extenders/chemicals.
