Honestly, I had to refresh my fashion and art memories as I googled the couple. And they are indeed a powerful pair that complemented each other. Ruben is the artsy one, whose known for his illustrations with works that included making mannequins for his clients such as Barneys. Isabel is the stylish one, who has her very own label of which she chose to be very low-key about.
Combined these two forces and you have the latest limited edition pieces by MAC X Toledo.
Officially launched last March 13, Friday, at the SM Aura Premier, Keri and I were able to get first dibs on this fun collection:
On both ends of the set-up, you can seen two long platforms featuring Ruben’s works. Here’s one of them up close:
There was a makeup demo, so the only collection displayed at the venue was being used.
So we headed off to the store which is a few meters away, and found this:
Of course, we have our own favorites. For Keri, “The eye palettes are gorgeous and the shades of lipsticks.”

Keri was leaning towards this lippie shade (so ’90s, BTW). It comes in a matte form. It’s not her usual choice, so I suggested she should think about it first before making the purchase. What do you think?

She loved “the purple mascara from the line, when applied on the lower lashes, really opens up your eyes.” It’s something I’ve always done — I have chinita eyes — I gave her another tidbit wherein she can play her eyes up even more with dark (but colored) eyeliners such as navy blue and deep purple (if brights aren’t your thing).
