There was no way I would be visiting Copenhagen without dining in Noma. Even if my fingers were forming blisters already, I was going to keep refreshing the restaurant’s website til I get my reservation… and I did! I didn’t read any reviews on the restaurant so as not to spoil my whole Noma experience and I’m glad I didn’t cause Noma blew me away completely.
My husband and I arrived 15 minutes before our lunch reservation, we used this time to enjoy the beautiful harbor .
When it was time to enter Noma, I was completely surprised to be greeted by the whole staff… including Réne Redzepi!!! I wanted to DIE!!! #chefcrush #anggwapo
By this time, I knew this was all going to be worth our money. I rarely get starstruck, this was one of the few times.
Since we were also here to celebrate our 13th year wedding anniversary, we included the wine pairing to our menu. I have to admit, I’m no vegan but I was able to eat everything that was served to me. Every time a new vegetable dish would arrive, I would try to offer it to my husband but he would say “You have to eat that, Rene would be upset!”. HAHAHAHA… and I did and it wasn’t too bad after all. What’s amazing is how well the dishes were presented, how absolutely flawless the service was , and how beautiful the restaurant is. (And how awesome the chef is. lol).
This is what we had for lunch 🙂
and the bottles of wine …
after the 3 hour lunch, we had coffee and pastries at their lounge area… which had great lighting too!
Then they took us on a tour around the kitchen, food lab, commissary, etc.
What an experience! Now I understand why Noma, with 2 Michelin stars, has been the no. 1 restaurant for 3 consecutive years 2010,2011,2012 and again in 2014. I have yet to experience a restaurant with this kind of innovativeness and awesome service.
I would fly to Tokyo if only I could get a reservation at the Mandarin for Noma’s pop up resto in January.
