Sky City Apartments at Newport

Keri   5 Jun , 2015

While researching on places to stay in NYC for a family of 8, I’ve chanced upon SkyCity Apartments through www.booking.com, www.tripadvisor.com, and www.villas.com.  I was pretty hesitant at first because its located in New Jersey and not Manhattan but the reviews were all good and the photos of the place looked amazing. Plus, you get a clean , new, and modern 3 bedroom apartment (with amazing views of downtown Manhattan) for less than $500 a night.  For the price, you can never get that much space in the city.     We chose The SkyCity Apartment at Riverfront North, which is one of their newer buildings.

It’s right in front of a beautiful park, with a small carousel and a charming fake beach.  Not to mention, the beautiful deck at the penthouse which was great for cocktails while watching the sunset overlooking Manhattan.

My photos don’t do justice on how nice the place really is so I got some photos from their website. And yes, it looks exactly the same when we first arrived.

Although it takes a 10 minute stroll to the Hoboken Path Train,  it’s something I actually looked forward to each day because of the fantastic weather and the gorgeous view of New York City. And if you get lazy or too tired, you can always uber it.  It would cost about 40-50usd per way.

The grocery around the corner and the Target nearby helped replenish our groceries and was helpful with emergency cooked meals which came in handy after a long day in the city and coming home exhausted with 4 kids in tow.

We had a great time at the apartment because of the space and the location, it was perfect for my family.  You can also schedule someone to clean for a fee.  Wifi, Toiletries by Neutragena, washer and dryer, a complete kitchen,  free local calls, came with the apartment which made our stay much more convenient and comfortable.   I wouldn’t mind staying again at Newport for future visits in the city.
