The Revlite Magic

Keri   19 Mar , 2015

I rarely go to the dermatologist .  The rare times I’ve gone has always been due to my freckles.   Yes, I have “Lindsay Lohan Freckles” except  I don’t have them on my shoulders, I do have some on my arms.  I remember back when I was in 3rd grade, my classmates would ask me why I have a lot of “moles” on my face,  but every time I would bring it up to my mom, she would say ” Freckles make you beautiful, some people even put on fake freckles”.  Not sure about the fake freckles part, but I believed her and I felt unique with them.

But in time, my freckles started multiplying and would darken every time I’m under the sun.  To me, I didn’t look cute anymore.  So I’ve tried Cosmelan a couple of times.  It gave amazing results after just a few days but I didn’t like the constant peeling part, I had to bring the tube of moisturiser (which came with the pack) because  without it I’ll be shedding all over.   Then I noticed my friend’s flawless skin, she too had freckles and dark spots in the past.  She told me all about revlite and that I should give it a try.  Seeing her skin, I was convinced already.

So I visited my friend Dr. Karen Dionisio of  Aesthetic Institute of the Philippines (AIP).   She explained to me that it will take several weeks to see the full results from the Revlite treatment and I have to be diligent with my 2x a month visits until I’ve completed 8-10 sessions.    The procedure is tolerable, the laser treatment felt like  snaps of thin rubber bands.  Revlite breaks the pigments (dark spots) and eliminates them.  So after my 8th treatment, my skin was close to flawless and I was beyond happy and satisfied. Although Dr. Karen suggested that I continue with the treatment by having it done once a month to keep the freckles from coming back. After this, my sunblock is my new best friend!
