A few days ago, Francis and I were invited by our favourite neighbors- Rob and Liz, to try the hip Asian fusion restaurant, Your Local. As soon as you enter the place , you’ll definitely feel that NYC bistro vibe- “exposed ceiling”, painted steel pipes, open kitchen, heavy wooden tables, dimmed lights, good music. I regret not visiting sooner.
Liz’s son, Nicco, happens to be one of the owners and is the head chef. He took charge of all the dishes we had to try and I must say that everything was flavourful and some dishes were actually addicting. You cannot miss the Salmon Donburi!
Definitely a restaurant you would go back to for great food and ambiance.
My favourite dish at Your Local- Torched Salmon Donburi- salmon cooked medium, mentaiko, oboro, ebiko, and salmon skin on roast corn and shitake fried rice.
There’s a secret door that gives you access to Yardstick.
I strongly recommend their coffee! One of the best I’ve tried in the city.
